The Colorado Society of School Psychologists stands united with all people, including our students, members, and community, who are affected by hateful, racist and violent acts in our country. We denounce the violence against Black men and women and we oppose all forms of bigotry, racism and violence.
CSSP recognizes the significant effect of racial discrimination on the mental health of students of color. Historical racial trauma, current racial tensions, and the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 in America directly harm Black and other minoritized groups and individuals in Colorado, in addition to the violent acts witnessed in our communities and through media. CSSP is committed to promoting social justice in our schools and advocating for our communities of color. We are here to support Colorado school psychologists in meeting these needs, as we must work together to dismantle racial injustice.
