Seeking Nominations for CSSP President-Elect

CSSP is currently accepting member nominations for President-Elect . Nominations will be accepted through Friday, February 24th. We hope you will consider nominating yourself or a colleague. Roles and responsibilities for this position are outlined below.

Please send your nominations to jennifer.westman@yahoo.com and include the following:
• Candidate’s name and a brief statement describing why they would like to serve as President-Elect.
• An e-mail and phone number of the candidate so they can be reached.

After nominations are received, candidate statements will be posted to the website and a reminder to vote will be sent electronically to all members.
Voting will be open for two weeks during March. Additional information related to the voting process will be forthcoming.

President Elect Roles and Responsibilities:
During the first of a 3 year term, the President-Elect will assist the President and stand in for her as needed or succeed to the Presidency in case of vacancy. The second year, the acting president will oversee all functions on the board including, chairing executive council and fiscal advisory committee meetings, appoint chairpersons of standing committees, special committees and task forces (all subject to the approval by a majority of the elected officers), and shall be considered a member of all such committees and task forces . The president also hosts the awards ceremony at the annual conference. During the third year, the past president will support the incoming president.

Academy School District 20 in Colorado Springs, Colorado is currently accepting applications for two full-time School Psychology internship positions for the 2012-2013 academic year. The first round of interviews will be held the first week of February 2012. The deadline to receive application packets is January 20, 2012.
Situated in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Academy School District 20 is a growing district with over 23,000 students. The district is noted throughout the state for academic excellence and offers many academic choices that include an arts and ideas school, a math and science academy, and K-12 International Baccalaureate programs.

The intern experience in District 20 includes a broad based training program covering all phases of assessment, consultation, crisis intervention, individual and group work, progress monitoring, behavioral and academic interventions, the RTI process, and the development of IEP’s and behavior plans. Staff development seminars throughout the year, held in conjunction with a regional School Psychologist Consortium and district School Psychologists, provide the opportunity for both interns and practicing school psychologists to discuss topics pertaining to the changing practice of school psychology. Supervision is provided according to NASP guidelines. The stipend is $20,000 with personal leave benefits.

Statewide Crisis Response Team

The mission of the CSSP State-Wide Crisis Response Team is to provide comprehensive school-based prevention, intervention, and postvention crisis resources and services. The CSSP State-Wide Crisis Response Team advocates for professional development training opportunities and multi-level crisis response programming. The CSSP State-Wide Crisis Response Team encourages interagency collaboration and services in preparing for and responding to crises that impact the school and community. Just a quick reminder that CSSP memberships expired on June 30th. Renew now for the 2011-2012 year so that you can continue to enjoy all the benefits of CSSP membership.

Members: Be sure to login prior to renewing your membership.

Regular and Associate Membership dues are $75. Student Memberships are $25 (Price includes the rest of this year, as well as 2012-2013).
